Hot-dip galvanized steel pipe

Hot-dip galvanizing is a process technology in which metals such as steel, stainless steel, and cast iron are immersed in molten liquid metal or alloy to obtain a coating.

Hot-dip galvanized products play an immeasurable and irreplaceable role in reducing corrosion and extending life, energy-saving, and material saving of steel. In production, the galvanizing process generally adopts the GB/T3091 standard.

The galvanized seamless steel pipe is suitable for water, sewage, gas, air, heating steam, and other process pipelines. Galvanized steel pipes are divided into two types: hot-dip galvanized steel pipes and cold-dip galvanized steel pipes.

Hot-dip galvanized steel pipe making process

At first, the steel pipe is pickled, and then cleaning the iron oxide on the pipe surface; it is cleaned in a tank with an aqueous solution of N H 4 Cl and ZnCl 2 or a mixed aqueous solution, and then placed in a hot-dip galvanizing tank for hot-dip galvanizing. The zinc-iron alloy layer has a dense structure and strong corrosion resistance.

The advantages of hot-dip galvanized steel pipe

The steel’s surface is sprayed with a pure zinc layer, which blocks the possibility of contact between the corrosive solution and the steel, therefore restraining the steel from being decomposed.

The normal service life of hot-dip galvanized steel pipes that meet the standards is as long as decades. Galvanized steel pipes are safe for the human body, and the scale of the galvanized steel pipes used for hot water is harmless to the human body. Therefore, galvanized steel pipes have sufficient corrosion resistance, stability, and safety in various hard and soft waters.

The replacement of  hot-dip galvanized steel pipe

Installation preparation: Make preparations according to the construction method determined by the construction plan.

Prefabrication: Mark the actual installation structure position according to the design drawing, and then prefabricate according to the measured size of the sketch.

Dry pipe installation: generally start from the main inlet during installation, and temporarily plug the main inlet end for pressure test.

Standpipe installation: uniformly hang the clamps from top to bottom for each layer, arrange the prefabricated standpipes in layers, and install them in order.

Branch pipe installation: install the prefabricated branch pipes from the opening of the tube one by one. If there is a cut-off door, the cut-off door cover should be removed and then installed.

Pipeline pressure test: the laid, concealed, and thermally insulated water supply pipeline shall be subjected to a single hydraulic pressure test before being concealed.

Pipeline flushing: The pipeline can be flushed after the pressure test is completed. The flushing should be performed continuously with tap water, and sufficient flow should be ensured.

Pipeline anti-corrosion and heat preservation: all section steel brackets and pipe galvanized damaged parts and exposed threads should be painted with anti-rust paint. There are three forms of thermal insulation for hot-dip galvanized steel pipes: pipeline antifreeze insulation, pipeline anti-heat loss insulation, pipeline anti-condensation insulation.镀锌钢管管件。

The usage of hot-dip galvanized steel pipe

Transportation: highway guardrail, highway, and railway isolation net, sound insulation wall, wind fence, snow fence, various indicator signs, bridge steel structure.

Electricity, communication, and other towers and masts: transmission towers, communication towers, radio and television towers, meteorological towers, satellite ground relay towers, aerial cableway supports, electrified railway towers, power station steel structures, urban road light poles.

Urban architecture: It is especially suitable for all kinds of large-span grid structures and steel structure residences.

Industrial and agricultural steel structures: steel structure workshops, warehouses, granaries, marine steel structures, various pipeline supports, various industrial towers, supports, agricultural greenhouse structures, cable trays, etc.
