Advantages of DSAW steel pipe
DSAW has the following advantages: (compared to single wire submerged arc welding)
- Increase the welding speed by 30% to 40%;
- Reduce the number of local inclusions and weld pores;
- Improve the impact toughness of the weld center area;
- Suitable for welding steel pipes with larger wall thickness;
- It can improve productivity.
DSAW vs LSAW steel pipe
The LSAW pipe does not have processes such as uncoiling, leveling, and matching. It is only equipped with a few sets of welding production equipment, and the weld seam is short and intermittent production, so the output is high. After the completion of the forming, the horizontal position longitudinal welding can realize welding. Seam tracking automatically. The pipe diameter is restricted by the width of the steel plate. A steel plate of one width can only produce a steel pipe of one diameter.
DSAW vs SSAW steel pipe
Due to the anisotropy of the impact of the SSAW welded pipe, the maximum driving direction of its cracking avoids the minimum fracture resistance direction. Due to the anisotropy of strength, the direction of weak strength perpendicular to the spiral weld direction avoids the direction of principal stress. The steel strip used in the SSAW welding pipe can be basically based on domestic production and transportation is more convenient. Generally, it can only be used for strip with a thickness of less than 16mm.
ERW vs DSAW steel pipe
ERW pipes are used to transport water, gas, air, oil, and heating steam, suitable for low and medium pressure fluid pipes, and structural steel pipes.
DSAW straight seam steel pipes are used in supporting facilities such as large-span grid engineering, water gas pipelines, construction, power engineering, machinery, bridge beams, steel structures, and foundation piling.
Classification of steel pipes
Steel pipes are the important parts of iron and steel products, which can be divided into two kinds: SML pipes(round billets) and welded steel pipes (plates, strip billet) because of their manufacturing techniques and different billets.
Because of the different welding methods, it can be split into two types: LSAW and SSAW. And on account of the end shape, it is divided into special-shaped (square, flat, etc.) welded pipe and round welded pipe.
